Welcome to the Ross Group! We are a group of chemists, biochemists, and biologists interested in exploring the molecular bounty of the ocean. Our research focuses on the production of complex natural products by marine bacteria, with an emphasis on understanding the biosynthetic enzymes and pathways that assemble these molecules. We are particularly interested in how enzymatic interactions both within biosynthetic gene clusters and in complex environments such as the gut microbiome shape chemical diversity and function.
